# Connect Cursor to the Fanvue MCP server

> Install the Fanvue MCP server in Cursor with one click or through mcp.json, then authorise it with your Fanvue account.

Cursor can read and answer chats, publish posts and read earnings on your Fanvue account from its chat panel. You need a Fanvue creator or agency account and Cursor installed.

## Connect Cursor

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the server">
    [Install the Fanvue server](cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=fanvue\&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL21jcC5mYW52dWUuY29tL21jcCJ9) with the URL pre-filled.

    To add it by hand, go to **Settings → Tools & MCP → New MCP Server**, or edit `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:

    ```json title="~/.cursor/mcp.json" theme={null}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "fanvue": {
          "url": "https://mcp.fanvue.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorise">
    Cursor asks you to sign in with Fanvue on first use. Your browser opens to Fanvue to sign in and allow access.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the connection">
    Ask "How many unread Fanvue chats do I have?". A reply with your unread count means the connection works.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Ask in plain language

Describe what you want and the client picks the tools:

```text wrap theme={null}
How many unread chats do I have, and who are my top spenders this month?
Draft a thank-you message to my top 10 spenders and show it to me before sending
Schedule a post for Friday at 20:00 London time announcing a live stream
Compare my net earnings this month with last month, by source
```

As an agency, name the creator in each request. [Example requests](/docs/mcp-server/examples) has more, grouped by job.

## Review before anything reaches fans

Tools act on your live account. A message reaches the fan, a mass message reaches the whole list, and a post goes live as soon as the tool runs. Ask for a draft first and approve it before the client sends or publishes.

<Warning>
  With `fanvue_mcp:write`, the client can do anything your account can do, including messaging fans, publishing and changing prices. Revoke access at any time in Fanvue under Settings > Account > **Third Party Apps Consent**.
</Warning>

## Disconnect Cursor

Remove the `fanvue` entry under **Settings → Tools & MCP** or from `~/.cursor/mcp.json`, then revoke access as described in [Disconnect and revoke](/docs/mcp-server#disconnect-and-revoke).
