Grok Build can read and answer chats, publish posts and read earnings on your Fanvue account from the terminal. You need a Fanvue creator or agency account and a Grok account.

Connect Grok Build

1

Install Grok Build

Skip this step if grok --version prints a version. Otherwise, on macOS or Linux:
On Windows, run irm https://x.ai/cli/install.ps1 | iex in PowerShell. If your shell then reports command not found: grok, open a new terminal.
2

Sign in to Grok

Run grok once. Your browser opens to sign in to your Grok account.
3

Install the Fanvue plugin

The plugin adds the Fanvue server and skills that ask you to confirm before Grok Build messages fans, publishes or changes prices. To add only the server, run grok mcp add --transport http fanvue https://mcp.fanvue.com/mcp instead.
4

Authorise

In Grok Build, open /mcps, select fanvue and press i. Your browser opens to Fanvue to sign in and allow access.
5

Confirm the connection

Ask “How many unread chats do I have?”. A reply with your unread count means the connection works.
If the Fanvue tools are missing, grok mcp doctor fanvue reports the server’s configuration and connectivity.

Ask in plain language

Describe what you want and the client picks the tools:
As an agency, name the creator in each request. Example requests has more, grouped by job.

Review before anything reaches fans

Tools act on your live account. A message reaches the fan, a mass message reaches the whole list, and a post goes live as soon as the tool runs. Ask for a draft first and approve it before the client sends or publishes.
With fanvue_mcp:write, the client can do anything your account can do, including messaging fans, publishing and changing prices. Revoke access at any time in Fanvue under Settings > Account > Third Party Apps Consent.

Disconnect Grok Build

If you added only the server, run grok mcp remove fanvue instead. Then revoke access as described in Disconnect and revoke.
